Concrete Tooling

Concrete Tooling

Concrete tooling is the heart of any grinding or polishing job — the metal-bond diamond segments and cup wheels that do the actual cutting on your floor grinder. We carry long-lasting, high-quality concrete tooling in a range of bonds and grits, so you can match the tool to your concrete for faster cuts, longer tool life, and a better finish. Not sure which bond or grit you need? Call and we'll match the tooling to your floor and machine — you'll talk to a real surface-prep expert, not a call center.

What It's For

  • Grinding and leveling concrete floors
  • Removing coatings, glue, and surface contaminants
  • Opening and profiling the surface before coatings or polishing
  • The first (metal-bond) steps of a polished-concrete process

How to Choose the Right Bond and Grit

  • Bond controls wear: use a soft bond on hard concrete and a hard bond on soft concrete (sounds backwards, but it balances diamond exposure and tool life).
  • Grit controls finish: coarse grits for fast removal and leveling, finer grits as you step toward polishing.
  • Segment shape/count affects speed vs. smoothness.

Bond and grit selection is where most jobs go right or wrong — call us and we'll get it right for your floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s “metal-bond” tooling? Diamonds set in a metal matrix — the workhorse tooling for grinding and prepping concrete, before you move to resin-bond pads for polishing.

Will it fit my grinder? We carry tooling for planetary and other grinders — call with your machine and we’ll confirm the fit. (Looking for planetary-specific? See our Planetary Tooling.)

Soft or hard bond for my floor? Hard concrete → softer bond; soft concrete → harder bond. Tell us your floor and we’ll match it.
