Substrate Technology provides professional shot blasting equipment for concrete surface preparation, coating removal, and floor profiling. Shot blasting is one of the most efficient methods for preparing concrete surfaces and achieving consistent results across large areas.

Our shot blasters deliver powerful, controlled performance for contractors working in industrial, commercial, and specialty flooring environments.

S125E

The IMPACTS S125E is a small hand held, shot blasting machine that is designed for a variety of horizontal and vertical applications.

S210E

The IMPACTS S210E is the first 110V blaster with the In-Line Separation system. This means better separation of abrasive and dust as well as superior production over similar priced shot blast machines.

S210E-40R

The IMPACTS S210E-40R is a very powerful, but compact and light weight self-propelled blast machine. The combination of the powerful wheel motor with an optimized separation system and the variable speed drive motor makes the machine very efficient.

S270E-75R

The IMPACTS S270E-75R is a very powerful and compact shot blaster for medium horizontal surfaces. A powerful wheel motor with an optimized separation system and variable speed drive motor makes the machine very efficient and easy to operate.

S320E

At 12.6 inches (320mm) and 15HP (11kW), the S320E shot blaster will out blast comparably-sized blasting machines. The most ideal application for this model is the aggressive removal of coatings on large surface preparation projects.

S410E

The S410E Shot Blaster is a unique machine to the industry because similarly sized machines do not have as much horsepower.

It not only outperforms other blasters for brush blasting, but also blasts more productively in coating removal applications for large projects. Because of the high HP, it also works great on steel deck surface preparation.

S600E

The S600E Shot Blaster is the largest in the IMPACTS Americas fleet of mobile shot blasters.

It is a two-wheel shot blaster with very high production rates for brush-blasting as well as aggressive removals. Its 23-inch blasting pattern makes it a reasonably-sized walk-behind blaster that is the most productive for very large project areas.

What is Shot Blasting?

Shot blasting is a mechanical surface preparation method that propels steel shot at high velocity to clean, profile, and prepare concrete surfaces.

This process:

  • Removes coatings, adhesives, and contaminants
  • Creates a consistent surface profile (CSP)
  • Prepares surfaces for coatings, overlays, or polishing

Applications for Shot Blasting

Shot blasting is commonly used in:

  • Epoxy and coating removal
  • Concrete surface preparation (CSP profiles)
  • Industrial floor restoration
  • Parking garages and warehouses
  • Surface cleaning before coatings or overlays

Shot Blasting vs Grinding

Both shot blasting and grinding are effective, but they serve different purposes.

Shot Blasting:

  • Ideal for large areas
  • Creates uniform surface profiles
  • Fast material removal

Concrete Grinding:

  • Better for detailed work and polishing
  • Provides smoother finishes
  • More flexible for multiple applications

👉 Many contractors use both systems together for optimal results.

Why Choose Substrate Technology

Substrate Technology provides shot blasting equipment trusted by contractors because we offer:

  • Reliable, industrial-grade machines
  • Equipment designed for consistent surface profiling
  • Expert support and equipment recommendations
  • Complete solutions including grinders and dust collectors

Shot Blaster FAQs

What is a shot blaster used for?
Shot blasters are used to clean and prepare concrete surfaces by removing coatings and creating a consistent texture for bonding.

What surface profile does shot blasting create?
Shot blasting creates a CSP (Concrete Surface Profile), which is ideal for coatings and overlays.

When should I use shot blasting instead of grinding?
Shot blasting is best for large, open areas where consistent surface profiling is needed.
