Cup Wheels

Cup Wheels

Concrete & Stone Cup Wheels

Diamond cup wheels turn a hand grinder into a powerful grinding and prep tool — cutting through coatings, high spots, thinset, and surface material fast. We carry a full range of cup wheels in different diamond patterns, bonds, sizes, and grits, so you can match the wheel to your material, your machine, and your finish. From aggressive concrete prep to a refined edge to stone fabrication and wood floor work, there's a wheel for the job. Call and talk to a real surface-prep expert, not a call center.

Metal Dot Cup Wheels

Metal-bond diamond dot wheels for aggressive grinding and long life — in three patterns:

Turbo Cup Wheels

Swept, spiral-segment wheels for fast, aggressive grinding with efficient debris clearing:

Ceramic Edge Cup Wheels

Aggressive grinding with a superb finish — for edge work where appearance matters:

  • Ceramic Edge Cup Wheel — blends into the floor, eliminates gouging, a beautiful edge in fewer steps; 5″ & 7″, grits #30–#400

STI Turbo Cups

  • Use wet or dry
  • Used for first cut/closing cuts on new or existing epoxy/portland terrazzo
  • Metal bond diamond for aggressive cutting
  • 3″ diameter
  • Available in Quick Change attachment or EZ Bolt-on (5/8″–11 arbor)
  • 16, 24, 40 and 80 Grit

5-inch-diamond-dot-cup-wheel

Metal Dot “Swirl” Cup Wheel

  • Diamond cup wheel with a dot segment pattern for fast, even stock removal
  • Runs wet or dry
  • Threaded arbor that fits any variable-speed hand grinder (standard 5/8″-11 — confirm your grinder)
  • Diamond segments last far longer than abrasive wheels and create less dust
  • Pairs well with a dust shroud and vacuum for cleaner, OSHA-friendly grinding
  • 30 and 60 Grit Available
  • Available in 4″, 5″ and 7″

PCD Cup Wheel

PCD Cup Wheel

  • Pairs well with a dust shroud and vacuum for cleaner, OSHA-friendly grinding
  • Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) segments that shear coatings instead of clogging
  • Available in 5″ and 7″
  • 7/8″ open-hole arbor — fits standard variable-speed hand grinders (confirm your grinder/adapter)
  • Aggressive removal on sticky, gummy materials that defeat normal diamond tooling
  • Best used dry with a dust shroud and vacuum — coating removal makes a lot of dust

Vacuum Brazed Wood Floor Cup Wheel

  • Sand and strip wood floors with your hand grinder — edges, corners, and small areas
  • De-gloss polyaspartic coatings on concrete — scuff the surface for recoating
  • Hand-grinder size for the spots a big floor tool can’t reach
  • Vacuum-brazed diamond construction for aggressive, durable cutting
  • Available in 5″ and 7″, in 16 grit

Double Row Cup Wheel

  • Double row diamond cup wheel — aggressive, fast material removal
  • Available in 5″ and 7″ diameters
  • 5/8″-11 thread — fits standard hand grinders
  • For surface preparation — coatings removal, high spots, concrete prep
  • Available in 16 and 30 grit

5″ Turbo Concrete Cup Wheel

  • 5″ turbo cup wheel — swept, spiral segment design
  • 5/8″ open hole mount
  • 16 grit — aggressive material removal
  • Efficient debris clearing — the swept segment pattern helps move material as it grinds
  • For surface preparation — coatings, high spots, concrete grinding

Which Cup Wheel Do You Need?

Cup wheels differ in a few key ways — matching them to your job matters:

  • Aggressive concrete prep / coating removal → Metal Dot (Swirl or Double Row), or a Turbo wheel
  • Coating removal specifically → 7″ 12-Segment 30/40 Grit
  • Harder concrete → 7″ 12-Segment Soft Bond (softer bond exposes fresh diamond on hard concrete)
  • Smoother, efficient grinding on larger areas → 24-Segment Turbo (Standard or Premium)
  • Stone fabrication / mesh backing removal → Metal Dot Multi-Row
  • A clean, finished edge → Ceramic Edge
  • Wood floors → Wood Floor Cup Wheel
  • Size → 4″ and 5″ for tighter/detail work, 7″ for covering more area
  • Grit → coarser (16–30) for aggressive removal, finer (up to #400 on the Ceramic Edge) for a refined finish

Not sure which combination fits your grinder and your job? That’s exactly what we’re here for — call and we’ll match you to the right wheel.

What Cup Wheels Are For

  • Removing coatings, paint, mastic, and thinset
  • Grinding down high spots and leveling
  • Surface preparation before coating or overlay
  • Stone fabrication — grinding granite, quartz, and engineered stone; removing mesh backing
  • Wood floor grinding and prep
  • Edge and detail grinding with a clean finish

Grind Safely

Grinding concrete releases harmful silica dust. Always pair your cup wheel with a dust shroud and a dust collector to capture the dust at the source and stay OSHA-compliant.
