The EGT Diamond System is a complete, matched diamond polishing system — eight coordinated metal- and resin-bond tools (numbered #1–#8) that take concrete from the first grind all the way to a high-gloss polished finish. Unlike a wet/dry system, the EGT system runs entirely dry — simpler setup, no slurry to manage. It’s built specifically for Prep/Master® floor grinders, and every tool is color-coded green so you always know you’re running a matched set. As STI puts it: it’s a system, not a machine.

How the EGT System Works

The EGT System runs as a defined 8-step, all-dry sequence, with the machine on dust collection throughout:

• Steps #1–#3 — metal-bond tools (patented EG attachment) to grind and open the surface
• Steps #4–#8 — resin-bond tools that refine and polish to a high gloss, with a densifier applied along the way

Running the tools in their numbered order is what delivers a consistent, repeatable finish — and because it’s fully dry, there’s no slurry to deal with.

• #1, #2 & #3 — metal-bond grinding tools (patented EG attachment); long life (#1 ~30,000 SF, #2 & #3 ~35,000 SF — even more on the 4430)
• #4 — 3″ resin-bond tool, green Velcro, ~20,000 SF life
• #5–#8 — 3″ resin-bond polishing tools, green Velcro, ~10,000–12,000 SF life each

Is Your Floor a Candidate?

Because EGT is a dry system, the surface must be completely dry and clean of coatings or adhesives (a #0 Prep Tool handles prep if needed). The concrete should be at least 4,250 PSI (29 MPa) and over 28 days old. A 100 SF mock-up is recommended before any full job. Not sure if your slab qualifies? Call us and we’ll help you check.

EGT vs. CLC — Which System?
