Smith’s Epoxy MPP3 is a two-component, 100% solids multipurpose epoxy — the versatile foundation of a huge range of floor coating systems. Use it as a primer, solid-color body coat, the matrix for vinyl chip and quartz broadcast systems, or for patching — one epoxy that does the work of several. Low VOC, low odor, chemical-resistant, and durable across industrial, commercial, and residential floors.

Key Features
- 100% solids epoxy — no shrinkage, a full-build coat
- Multipurpose — primer, body coat, broadcast matrix, or patching
- Low VOC (3 g/L) and low odor — good for occupied and interior spaces
- Chemical- and stain-resistant — stands up to acids, bases, oils, and more
- Very hard and abrasion-resistant — 6H pencil hardness
- High gloss — >95 @ 60°
- Good working time with medium viscosity for good flow and self-healing
- Available in 4 colors — White, Boulder, Glacier Gray, Medium Gray
One Epoxy, Many Uses
MPP3’s versatility is the point — it’s the base product across many Smith’s systems:
- Primer — the bond coat under a floor system
- Solid-color body coat — a durable colored floor
- Broadcast systems — the matrix for vinyl chip, color quartz, and shop floor systems
- Epoxy mortar — the matrix for Smith’s Epoxy HD-100 mortar system
- Patching — repair cracks, gouges, and chips (mixed with silica fume and/or sand)

Where It’s Used
- Industrial — manufacturing, production, warehouses
- Institutional — hallways, classrooms, restrooms
- Pharmaceutical — warehouses, laboratories, restrooms
- Food & beverage (non-thermal-shock areas)
- Commercial — mechanical rooms, corridors, hallways
- Residential

Finish It With a Topcoat
MPP3 is a foundation coat — for a UV-stable, wear-resistant finish, top it with a Smith’s topcoat:
- Hi-Wear 90S — low sheen, maximum-longevity industrial topcoat
- CRU ’86 — high-gloss, UV-stable urethane
- Polyaspartic 5000LO — low-odor, fast-return polyaspartic
(Note: like all epoxies, MPP3 isn’t UV-stable on its own and will amber over time — a UV-stable topcoat protects the finish.)

- Requires mechanical surface prep (diamond grinding or shot blasting to CSP 2–5)
- Concrete moisture and pH testing highly recommended before application
- Applied by squeegee and back-roll — a professional application
Because it anchors a full floor system, we’ll help you plan the primer, build, and topcoat. Call us — and see the full data sheet for complete specs, chemical resistance, and instructions.
