We were all set to go… at the University of Ohio Cincinnati… but at the last minute, they asked me if I could take a look at the concrete floors in the eating areas of the same space. They were not sure how to maintain the concrete.

The contractor I was working through asked if I could apply a topical sealer or wax, but I was opposed to that idea because of maintenance issues. The floor was also very greasy and sticky from food fats and oils being left on the surface. It appeared that they mopped with contaminated water. You could see the mop strokes from the last time they "cleaned" the floor.

I started my test patch by laying out water mixed with Heavy Duty Foaming Degreaser. Dragging my hand across the floor before degreasing was very difficult to do; however, after degreasing, it was very easy and the floor was very smooth. I rinsed with a neutral floor soap and dried the floor.

I then laid out clear water and ran the Cash #1 pad on a north-to-south then east-to-west pattern. I ran the CASH #2 pad in the same manner. You could tell the floor was becoming smoother. While vacuuming the water, just by pushing the vacuum, you could tell where I had stopped with the pads. It was much easier to push on the test patch. I then proceeded with the CASH #3 pad. I didn't have any Prime Grind 2 to run with this step so I just used clear water. It still did the trick!

Not Just Another Buffing Pad

The rejuvenation possible using the PM2 System from STI on unpolished concrete proves that that this system is not just another buffing pad for a swing machine or a topical coating system. This is a system of diamond encrusted pads that literally changes the face of concrete using conventional equipment anywhere a simple and effective system is required without the need for expensive or exotic equipment. Imagine the results on a concrete floor that was polished by a P/M machine with the PM2 Diamond System!
